FOLDING CAMPERS/TRAILER TENTS
Folding Campers - have on board luxury kitchens and living space associated with them. The beds fold or slide out of the trailer body, in some cases to the front and rear and in other smaller models, to the sides, giving sleeping accommodation for up to six people. Additionally, this results in a spacious living space which includes dinette seating.
Folding Campers do not require pegging down (except for the worst conditions and then only with storm guys) therefore shortening the time taken to erect them. A zip-on awning, which more than doubles the floor area, is required to be pegged down.
On board facilities vary considerably on Folding Campers according to size and price, and will include wardrobes, toilets and washrooms, ovens, heaters and CD/MP3 players in the top of the range models
Trailer Tents - generally have a more compact trailer body that is usually narrower than the width of an average car as they accommodate sleeping quarters and storage only and are normally fabricated on unbraked chassis. This makes them light and easy to tow but does not afford as much room on the trailer as Folding Campers. The living area of a Trailer Tent is the awning. Trailer Tents can be bought with freestanding kitchens that are attached to the trailer for transit.
Trailer Tents need to be pegged down even if the awning is not used.
